On puppy pick up day, we will provide a puppy care package with material about understanding the behaviour and training of a Haven Golden Retriever puppy. We provide breeder support and make every effort to stay connected. We are available for any difficulties you may encounter on your new puppy journey. In order to run a successful program, we value any and all feedback from our clients.   

We take every precaution possible to raise the best puppies ever and give them an early advantage in life. 

The puppies are born in our home under close watch. Colostrum intake in monitored in every pup born. Supervised nursing happens every 4 hours, daily weights are monitored. During this critical period, the mom and her puppies are in isolation for the first few weeks with no distractions from the outside so she can focus on taking care of her puppies.

Our puppies are handled daily, early neurological stimulation (ENS) is practised on all our puppies. They're well socialized, exposed to as many factors as possible with their safety in mind at all times. Deworming happens at 2,4 and 6 weeks of age with Strongid T.

At 7 weeks of age, they get a detailed veterinary inspection and their first vaccinations. Between 4 and 8 weeks, socialization is ramped up as much as possible with their safety and well-being in mind. Visitation after 5 weeks is permitted, (with some conditions). 

Selection happens at 8 weeks, the reason being, we work with the puppies daily for 5-8 weeks and believe we can predict the temperament of a given pup over another. Selection order is organized according to the reservation list, dictated by deposit order. The breeder reserves the right to keep first pick of any litter at any given time. 

The male and the female reservations will be separated by gender. When your turn comes, you have full choice of the available puppies and the gender specified on your reservation. I will assist with my temperament assessment, and I will be involved as much as you feel comfortable to ensure you make the right choice for you and your family.

We provide a puppy contract that outlines a clear condition of sale. We provide a health guarantee that protects the buyer, seller and the dog. Our puppies receive a CKC approved tattoo in their right ear at 5 weeks of age. All our puppies are registered with the CKC under the buyers’ name, on a non-breeding agreement, and the buyer gets to choose the name of the dog with Haven's as a prefix.

Haven puppies have future rights and privileges; a pup that was born at Golden Retriever Haven has boarding privileges if their owners go on an extended vacation. It's great to socialize with their dog family at Golden Retriever Haven. It's certainly a highlight for any dog, plus the owners can have a worry-free vacation.
